About GeoStoryteller

GeoStoryteller is an educational tool that allows you to create stories about physical places. Users can take a walking tour and engage with the GeoStories you have created using their mobile phone.


GeoStoryteller is now available as an Open Source Package. To download, please vist sourceforge.net/projects/geostoryteller/.


The first application of GeoStoryteller is the German Traces NYC project. German Traces NYC is mobile, augmented reality experience designed to let learners explore German cultural heritage in New York City. The application makes use of archival documents, photographs, and multimedia narratives to bring to life to this significant thread of New York City and United States history.

German Traces NYC and GeoStoryteller are a joint project between Pratt Institute School of Information and Library Science and Goethe-Institut New York. The project team includes:
